Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team at Mercy Health. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room environment, including setting up and sterilizing equipment and supplies.
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures, including passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon.
  • Monitor the sterile field and maintain aseptic technique throughout the procedure.
  • Participate in department performance improvement activities and assist in training new personnel.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program required.
  • LPN grandfathered (3) at Rockford campus.

The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or smell.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
