Job Title: Staff Pharmacist

Reports to: Chief Pharmacist, Regional Manager, Senior Vice President of Professional Services

Summary

A professional-level position requiring a graduate degree in pharmacy and licensure as a pharmacist. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals according to professional standards and practices.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all customers and associates.
  • Responsible for maintaining a productive workflow in the Pharmacy department when the Chief Pharmacist is not on duty.
  • Authorizes and approves associate purchases in the Pharmacy.
  • Maintains and enforces all company policies in the Pharmacy department.
  • Ensures that all functions of the Pharmacy comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

  • Must exhibit a high degree of professional excellence, characterized by sound, independent judgment, initiative, and a high standard of ethics.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
  • Must be able to use a team approach in solving problems and giving direction on a daily basis.
  • Must be organized.

Education, Experience, and Licensure
  • College degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Must have and maintain a current license from the Board of Pharmacy of the state of practice.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and move quickly from one workstation to another.
  • Work with full range of hands, wrists, and arms.
  • Constantly positions self or moves about the pharmacy to access product and supplies.
  • Ability to lift/move items up to 40 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and less than 10 lbs constantly.
  • Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction.
  • Must have depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
  • Must have ability to communicate verbally with staff and patients.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
