QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent military training (such as Navy Nuclear Field A School & Power School).
- Proven experience with power distribution systems, including their operation and maintenance. Strong grasp of electrical principles, motor operations, and protective relaying.
- Familiarity with EasyPower or similar electrical design tools, along with proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Comprehensive knowledge of modern industrial electrical and electronic equipment (such as VFDs, VSDs, PLCs, and electronic relays).
- Background in project engineering or leadership roles within industrial sectors (including steel, aluminum, cement, and paper).
- Adept at managing projects to ensure adherence to safety standards, timelines, budgets, and other critical project parameters.
- Experience with contemporary electrical maintenance strategies focused on prevention and predictive analysis.
- Understanding of key contracting terminology and ability to assist procurement and operations teams in negotiating contracts for equipment and construction. Familiarity with contract terms and conditions.
- Experience in supervising contractors during construction projects, particularly in brownfield environments. Skilled in managing various technical and skilled labor contractors while promoting labor efficiency and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety. Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to foster a zero-injury work culture. Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and other relevant safety regulations.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Effectively initiate, execute, and successfully complete capital projects in the role of Project Manager.
- Maintain a safe and reliable power distribution system within the facility.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as required.
