Job Summary

CHS is seeking an experienced Energy Sales Representative to join our team in the Gwinner, ND market. The successful candidate will focus on energy products such as refined fuels, propane, and lubricants.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, making decisions and providing excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Execute sales plans to achieve sales goals and increase profitability through the implementation of sales, marketing, and consulting processes for products and services.
  2. Evaluate current customer programs and develop sales and marketing plans and programs to meet complex business needs while growing the business.
  3. Collaborate with sales, marketing, distribution, operations, technical staff, and credit to heighten the visibility and impact of sales calls and improve efficiency and profitability.
  4. Facilitate positive long-term relationships with suppliers and customers to create long-term repeat business.
  5. Identify needs and provide consultative services for businesses and customers by combining established relationships with product, marketing, and technical skills.
  6. Prepare sales presentations, contracts, bids, and proposals to ensure successful outcomes of transactions.
  7. Provide training to staff and customers.
  8. Demonstrate effective cross-selling success, achieving progressive customer share of wallet for multiple product lines.
  9. Apply the CHS sales cycle leading to specific targeted results.
  10. Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner, servicing customer complaints and inquiries.
  11. Lead sales projects and act as a mentor to less experienced sales staff.
  12. Develop knowledge of multiple products and apply this knowledge in all aspects of the job.
  13. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  14. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Additional Responsibilities

May include collaborating with other CHS divisions to leverage business relationships, growing the CHS enterprise, forecasting supply requirements by month and annual basis, managing P&L for an assigned territory.

Training and Qualifications

Product training, CHS sales training, national sales certification available, computer training on CRM software.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, and/or sales business operations.

Additional Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred in business, communications, marketing, or related field, outside sales experience, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
