The Professional Nursing Resource Team (PNRT) RNs are integral members of a market-based nursing resource team, assigned to different units throughout their shifts to meet patient care requirements within the designated facility.
These RNs are expected to possess the necessary skills, competencies, and qualifications, with a commitment to work in at least three facilities within a defined market.
This dedicated group is recognized as the Local Resource Team - RN. PNRT RNs are seasoned, proficient nurses specializing in areas such as medical/surgical, telemetry, critical/intermediate care, behavioral health, emergency, or women's services.
PNRT RNs exemplify independence, adherence to regulations, social confidence, and readiness for change. They demonstrate a strong dedication to professional nursing standards and inter-professional collaboration. These nurses are early adopters of Novant Health systems, technology, and workflows.
They act as reliable consultants and mentors to clinical nurses, sharing insights across teams to enhance nursing practices throughout Novant Health.

Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- 2 Year / Associate Degree, required.
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
- BSN, preferred.
Experience:
Experience in a defined specialty (Med Surg, Tele, Critical Care, ED, or Women's), required.
Licensure/Certification:
Current compact licensure in the appropriate state, required.
Completion of NC state-approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility-specific) within three months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
Specialty Certification, preferred.
Additional Skills Required:
Strong customer service skills, effective communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, conflict resolution abilities, critical thinking, and computer literacy.
Advanced training as required by department/unit/facility per identified skill set/subcategory. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
Capability to interpret information and identify each patient's care requirements relative to their age-specific needs. Knowledge and skill necessary to modify care according to patient age.
Successful completion of the Cardiac dysrhythmia test or course within three months of hire. NIH Stroke Scale certification upon hire.
Additional Skills Preferred:
Specialty certification within two years of hire.
