Host Hostess

Houlihan's Restaurant and Bar is seeking a friendly and efficient Host/Hostess to join our team of hospitality professionals.

As a Host/Hostess, you will provide exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable dining experience. You will be responsible for managing the flow of business in the dining room, seating guests, and providing information about our menu and services.

• Provide friendly and efficient service to guests, ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Manage the flow of business in the dining room, seating guests in a timely manner.
• Anticipate and correct any system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
• Take and manage reservations, receiving telephone calls and documenting reservation requests.
• Complete wait sheets and table count sheets, ensuring accurate records.
• Meet guests' needs by providing information about the restaurant, menus, and surrounding area.
• Ensure no guest leaves the restaurant unhappy, escalating issues to management if necessary.
• Stock front desk items, maintain menus, and complete restroom checklists.
• Assist servers and bus persons to execute service standards.
• Communicate with management and coworkers regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment issues, and safety concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and credit transactions.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and move quickly in a busy environment.
• Availability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

This role requires working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, with exposure to heat, steam, smoke, and cold. You will be required to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and move quickly to meet the needs of our guests.
