We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at Community Health and Wellness. As a Recreation Therapist, you will provide one-on-one home and community Recreation Therapy to children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, and behavioral/mental health diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities- Provide tailored goals to meet the needs of individual clients
- Document on each session
- Communicate with other team members and service providers
- Turn in timely documentation including weekly invoicing, progress notes, and related paperwork
- Travel to current or prospective clients' homes
- Transport client(s) during client visits
- Communicate with health care professionals, clients, families, and the general public through verbal and written communication
- Track SMART goals and progress through weekly documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Reader
- Implement patient care plans through home and community goal-related activities
- Work independently, manage one's own time and the time of client(s)
- Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration, Leisure Studies, or a related field
- CTRS or TRS/TXC certification
- CPR/AED/FIRST AID certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Auto insurance with 100/300/100 coverage minimum
- Professional liability insurance with $1 million/$3 million coverage limit
- Background and reference checks
- Competitive hourly rate based on education and experience
