Overview

Manhattan Youth is in search of several dedicated part-time After-school Front Desk Associates to enhance our committed team throughout the academic year. We are looking for individuals who are punctual, dependable, responsible, intelligent, and assertive to oversee the front desks at various after-school programs across Manhattan.

As an After-school Front Desk Associate, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safety of the children enrolled in our programs. Front Desk Associates are expected to foster a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for both children and their caregivers as they arrive and depart from the facility.

Qualified candidates should enjoy engaging with people, have a passion for working with children of diverse ages, possess a warm demeanor, and exhibit patience.

We aim to fill multiple positions to facilitate the return of our after-school programs to in-person learning. These are part-time, hourly roles available during the academic year, adhering to the NYC DOE schedule. After-school programs typically operate from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with individual schedules varying by school.

Compensation: $20/hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome parents/caregivers and children as they enter the facility;
  • Verify the identification of parents/caregivers and children;
  • Manage the check-in and check-out process for children;
  • Ensure children leave the facility with the appropriate adult;
  • Provide accurate information and respond to inquiries about the program;
  • Communicate effectively with on-site after-school program staff;
  • Handle phone inquiries;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with children;
  • Experience in a childcare or after-school environment is a plus;
  • Strong communication abilities;
  • Proactive self-starter with a collaborative mindset;
  • Prior customer service experience is advantageous;
  • Commitment to the mission of Manhattan Youth.
