Job Summary

The Maintenance Assistant will assist our Maintenance Director in maintaining the physical plant, performing routine maintenance tasks, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This is a full-time and part-time opportunity, with varying schedules depending on the position.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining the physical plant, including performing routine maintenance tasks and repairs
  • Support the Maintenance Director in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Perform tasks related to day-to-day maintenance and physical plant upkeep
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication skills to residents, staff, and visitors
  • Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to achieve goals and objectives
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of Two years of Maintenance experience required
  • One year of Maintenance experience in LTC/Skilled nursing community preferred
  • Experience working in a Person-Directed Care community preferred
  • Practical knowledge of day-to-day maintenance and physical plant upkeep
  • Genuine passion for working with elders
  • Knowledge of health care regulations pertaining to Federal/State/JCAHO surveys preferred
  • Ability to assist in supporting Safety and Emergency Preparedness for community
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Ability to foster team work with coworkers
  • Experience working with TELS Building Management system preferred
  • Strong organization and time management skills
