Job Summary

Cedar Wellness Center is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in Tacoma, WA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to individuals struggling with opioid use disorder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients, including administering medications, conducting lab tests, and monitoring patient response to treatment.
  • Collaborate with the Clinic Medical Director and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient treatment plans.
  • Participate in case conferences and share knowledge, information, and ideas among team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Record patient information accurately and completely, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Order medical supplies, maintain inventory, and record use as per regulations.
  • Administer and dispense medications and vaccines in accordance with applicable regulations and policy.
  • Ensure treatment plans are being followed and monitor patient response to treatment.
  • Administer and interpret the Mantoux test, and perform point-of-care testing as needed.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and medication dosage/interactions.
  • Maintain all medical records, including individual charts, daily medication charts, dosage records, progress notes, and doctor's orders.
  • Notify patients of lab results at the direction of the provider.
  • Submit referrals for specialized care at local health centers and follow-up on patient attendance and treatment.
  • Assist in organizing transfers of patients to and from the program.
  • Other related responsibilities include assisting in training staff in medical matters and patient care, attending professional meetings as required, and assisting the Physician during physical examinations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a certified LVN/LPN program.
  • Active LVN/LPN license in good standing.
  • Maintain continuing education credits as required by the Board of Licensure and organizational needs.
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic life support certification.
  • Ability to pass drug and background screening.
  • Ability to provide health and TB clearance.
  • Licensure in good standing and adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.
Preferred Requirements
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification.
  • 2 years of recent/previous work experience in a substance use disorder setting.

Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person, by telephone. While performing the duties of this classification, the employee works in an office setting where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must also analyze and evaluate situations and adopt effective courses of action.
