Job Title: Secure IT COMSEC Specialist

Janicki Industries is seeking a highly skilled Secure IT COMSEC Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO), overseeing all COMSEC matters and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems related to server/networking configuration, computers, phones, printers, applications, and hardware.
  • Configure and implement COMSEC equipment as needed, working closely with customers to understand their requirements.
  • Maintain accurate hardware labeling and inventory logs, ensuring seamless tracking and management of COMSEC materials.
  • Provide user training to personnel handling COMSEC material and equipment, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Prepare and submit accounting reports to the COMSEC Office of Record (COR) as required, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Pack and ship COMSEC equipment and materials between COR and contractors, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
  • Perform semi-annual self-assessments of both the main account and Janicki elements, reviewing ACRO self-assessments and maintaining documentation.
  • Maintain hand receipt records of all COMSEC material issued to Janicki, ensuring accurate tracking and management.
  • Support preparation activities for all COMSEC inspections, audits, and Staff Assistance visits, ensuring seamless coordination and execution.
  • Travel to various Janicki locations to provide on-site assistance as needed, responding promptly to technical support requests.
  • Provide general IT support as needed, working collaboratively with the IT team to resolve user problems.
  • Perform machine changeovers between data domains, ensuring seamless data transfer and management.
  • Install and troubleshoot computer hardware and peripherals, resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with employees across the company, providing clear guidance and support.
  • May coordinate with other teams or departments to resolve user problems, working collaboratively to achieve common goals.
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assists with preparing for annual inspections, ensuring seamless coordination and execution.
  • Must become familiar with National Institute of Standards and Technology manuals and guidelines, applying this knowledge to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • May be required to travel within the continental U.S., representing Janicki Industries and providing technical support as needed.
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance, as this is a condition of employment and an essential function of the job.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, working collaboratively with the IT team to achieve common goals.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience required, with a strong background in IT and COMSEC.
  • Associate Degree required, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Must have strong customer service skills and proficient oral and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Must be proficient working with Windows OS, common applications like Microsoft Office, and PC hardware (A+ certification level).
  • Must have a basic understanding of computer networking and security, with a strong focus on COMSEC.
  • Must be able and willing to gain security clearance and obtain a Security+ certification upon hire.
  • Must be willing to participate in an after-hours, on-call rotation for responding to Secure IT emergencies.
  • Must be accommodating and flexible while maintaining priorities, working collaboratively with the IT team to achieve common goals.
  • Must be able to work well independently and under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
