Heavy Equipment Mechanic

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all equipment, including wheel loaders, forklifts, and material handlers. This role requires a strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy truck repair and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts in a timely manner
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and various hand tools
• Adjust points, spark plug gaps, valves, distributors, fuel injection, and carburetors
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles
• Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL), minimum Class B preferred
• Air brake certification preferred
• Knowledge of repair on components of heavy trucks and equipment including suspensions, hydraulics, drivelines, electrical systems, brakes, and engines
Working Conditions:
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate to high noise levels. The role requires regular attendance and physical presence at work. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively with co-workers and maintain a safe working environment.
Physical Requirements:
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be required to regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The role may require occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The ideal candidate will be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds frequently and move/lift at least 100 pounds occasionally.
