Chemistry Professor

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a highly qualified Chemistry Faculty Member to join our team. As a Chemistry Professor, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of chemistry courses, including general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. You will also be expected to develop and implement curriculum, assess student learning outcomes, and maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in your regular teaching field.

• Teach a variety of chemistry courses, including general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry.
• Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students pursuing careers in allied health, biological sciences, physical sciences, computer science, and engineering.
• Assess student learning outcomes and maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in your regular teaching field.
• Participate in departmental activities, such as curriculum development and review, and serve on college committees.
• Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean.

• Master's in chemistry OR Bachelor's in chemistry or biochemistry and Master's in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology or geochemistry; OR the equivalent.
• Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

• Experience teaching chemistry courses at the community college level.
• Experience developing and implementing curriculum.
