Job Summary:
Rn clinical staff nurses provide high-quality patient-centered care in a med/surg telemetry unit. They manage patient care through assessment, planning, and collaboration with healthcare teams. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of nursing practices, critical thinking, and effective communication to respond to patient needs and ensure optimal outcomes.

The nurse demonstrates the use of the nursing process as a problem-solving model; utilizing their knowledge and experience to anticipate and plan to meet patient and family needs. They prioritize and organize patient care and ensure follow-through with planned care. The nurse consistently applies current literature/research findings and critical thinking skills to make sound clinical decisions.

Responsibilities include conducting hourly rounding on patients, communicating using SBAR in all hand-off situations, and performing documentation of patient care. They also assist patients/families to maximize sense of control and actively participate in their recovery. Additionally, they evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and document outcomes in the interdisciplinary plan of care (IPOC).

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, minimum one year of clinical nursing experience, and 12 months of med/surg/telemetry or critical care nursing experience. A valid California nursing license, Basic EKG Competence, and certifications in Progressive Critical Care Nursing or Medical/Surgical Nursing are also required. Bilingual skills, Basic Life Support, Advance Cardiac Life Support, and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card certification are preferred.
