Job Overview

Our goal is to ensure the utmost satisfaction of residents in a supportive assisted living environment that aligns with the mission of Nevada HAND Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

The following duties are essential to this position and may be performed independently, in collaboration with a supervisor, or in conjunction with other staff members. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.

Main Duties:

  • Execute cleaning tasks in designated resident rooms and common areas as instructed by the Assistant Administrator or Director on Duty, adhering strictly to assigned room lists.
  • Provide support in cleaning resident rooms or common areas outside of your designated tasks during staff absences or as directed.
  • Ensure all cleaning and laundry equipment is maintained in a clean and safe condition, reporting any malfunctions immediately.
  • Document and report any unusual incidents or occurrences to the Assistant Administrator or Director on Duty.
  • Complete incident reports for any life safety violations or inappropriate resident behavior, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with dress code and uniform standards.
  • Engage with residents, families, visitors, and staff in a professional and caring manner at all times.
  • Address resident and family inquiries with a positive and helpful attitude.
  • Greet guests warmly in public areas.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings as required.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and communicate with management regarding low stock.
  • Assist other departments as needed to enhance resident satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly to requests from other departments.
  • Exhibit teamwork and uphold the organization's core values.
  • Communicate any resident concerns or changes in condition to the Wellness Department and Assistant Administrator.
  • Document refusals of housekeeping or laundry services and notify management accordingly.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding resident health information and direct inquiries to the Administrator.
  • Adhere to internal policies and procedures to support risk management and safety.

Specific Housekeeping Duties:

  • Vacuum assigned resident apartments and common areas weekly, with additional cleaning as directed.
  • Dust surfaces and furniture using approved cleaning products.
  • Clean baseboards in living spaces, bathrooms, and kitchens.
  • Sanitize toilets, showers, sinks, and mirrors.
  • Mop floors in bathrooms and kitchens, as well as common areas as assigned.
  • Perform spot cleaning on carpets and report any persistent stains.
  • Do not move resident furniture without prior approval from management.
  • Assist residents with personal items as requested.
  • Ensure kitchen counters are clean and assist residents with organization as needed.
  • Remove trash and replace liners during each visit.
  • Report any unpleasant odors immediately to management.
  • Assist residents with pet-related cleaning tasks as necessary.

Specific Laundry Duties:

  • Wash, dry, fold, and return residents' personal laundry, bedding, and towels on a weekly basis.
  • Document any refusals of laundry services and notify management.
  • Report patterns of excessive laundry needs to management.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other necessary duties to support overall operations.
  • Coordinate tasks with other personnel to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Adapt tasks as needed based on individual circumstances.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience working with seniors is strongly preferred.
  • Must obtain a Food Handler Safety Training Card within 30 days of employment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required within 30 days of employment.

Skills:

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively with the senior population.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain balance while walking, standing, or crouching.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking required.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Visual acuity to assess cleanliness and thoroughness of work.
