Position Overview

City of The Dalles


This full-time role is a Union eligible position that requires a pre-employment background check. Under the supervision of the Library Director, the incumbent will undertake a range of library responsibilities. The ideal candidate will spearhead the creation and execution of library services tailored for teens, serving as a mentor and linking young patrons to resources and opportunities that resonate with their interests. This role is crucial in addressing the needs of diverse and evolving communities, empowering teens to shape their own futures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay informed about relevant programs and services that enhance library operations.
  • Assist in front-desk circulation duties while providing exceptional customer service to the public.
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy library environment.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this position, candidates should possess the following:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree is preferred, though a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED, along with library experience, is acceptable.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience working with youth in a comparable capacity.
  • Licenses/Certificates: A valid Driver's License is required.

Compensation:

The wage range for this position is between $26.18 and $31.26 per hour.
