Job Summary

The Charge Nurse is a key member of our team, responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and evaluating unit activities for the provision of quality patient care during the assigned shift. As a role model, the Charge Nurse demonstrates the consistent ability to act as a mentor to the staff, providing direction in the application of the nursing process, quality improvement standards, and organizational and department goals and objectives in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Valid AL RN license
  • BCLS;ACLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year staff nurse experience required
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns
  • Skilled in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment
  • Ability to effectively manage time and schedules
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
  • Ability to observe, assess, and record work, safety, and infection control standards
Requirements

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide guidance and support to staff members.
