Barton & Loguidice is seeking a skilled Resident Engineer to join our team for the 2023 construction season. As a key member of our administration and inspection staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of transportation projects throughout various counties in New York.

• Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily inspections of construction activities and document findings
  • Prepare and submit daily diary/inspection reports and weekly progress reports to stakeholders
  • Measure and record quantities of materials used and work performed
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly payment requests and review claims for extra work and change order costs
  • Coordinate with utilities and interpret contract plans and specifications
  • Collaborate with the owner, contractor(s), and government agencies to ensure project success

Requirements:

• Proven experience in highway/bridge/paving/drainage inspection
• Knowledge of NYSDOT specifications and MURK procedures and protocol
• Basic computer skills to utilize construction software programs
• Recent Public Works, NYS Thruway, and DOT retirees are encouraged to apply

Compensation: Estimated pay range: $45-60/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials.
