Job Overview

This position performs various clerical duties and maintains the necessary skills to observe and interpret central cardiac monitors. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and staff members. They will also be responsible for coordinating patient flow and ensuring seamless communication through various telecommunication devices.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of computer applications specific to the unit/job, including maintaining accurate census and scanning documents.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, relaying accurate and complete information while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Take an active role in maintaining patient satisfaction by responding promptly to call lights and phones, and providing way-finding assistance.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations, including Code Blue, Rapid Response Team, fire, and Special Alert.
  • Perform computer downtime procedures according to unit/TriHealth guidelines.
  • Recognize and respond to emergency rhythms, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting changes in patient rhythm or arrhythmia.
  • Maintain alarms at all times, reviewing and prioritizing cardiac monitoring.
Requirements
  • High School Degree or GED
  • Successful completion of basic cardiology course, including 40 hours of clinical orientation
  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, and sitting. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 10 pounds, push and pull equipment, and use hands to operate computers and other devices.
