Metalworking Dies Fabricator

Location: Lebanon, TN

Salary: $32-$36 per hour (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Metalworking Dies Fabricator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges and machinist's hand tools.

• Analyze specifications and visualize product to determine materials required and machines to be used
• Compute dimensions, plan layout, and determine assembly method and sequence of operations
• Measure, mark, and scribe metal stock for machining
• Determine specifications for inspection of work, using full range of precision measuring and gauging tools
• Perform extensive die maintenance, including rebuilding die sections, retrimming pads and forms, and engineering changes
• Set up and operate machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, Blanchard and surface grinders
• Lift, position, and secure parts on the surface plate or worktable
• Smooth flat and contoured surfaces to fit and assemble parts together into assemblies and mechanisms
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances
• Grind iron to iron and metal out, heat treats tools or parts, and examines standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures to recommend design modifications

• Ability to machine accurately, including close tolerance machining where applicable
• Crane license
• Hilo license
• Responsible for reading and understanding IATF16949, ISO9001:2015, and ISO-14001 procedures

• Calipers
• Scales
