Veterinary Medicine Program Director

The Ulster County SPCA is seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Medical Director to oversee its veterinary program. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership and administrative responsibilities to advance the organization's mission.
About the RoleThis position is eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Serve as Shelter Veterinarian providing expert veterinary medical care, including emergency care during business hours and euthanasia as necessary.
- Serve as HQHVSN/Wellness Clinic Veterinarian performing wellness services for owned animals and sterilization surgeries and other surgical procedures.
- Create and manage medical and surgical protocols and practices for sheltered and owned animals in accordance with Shelter Standards of Care.
- Provide field services support to the Humane Law department as needed.
- Oversee records management for compliance with SOPs, federal, state, and local regulations.
Estimated salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
