We are seeking an experienced Web UX Specialist to join our External Relations team at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the management of our agency's day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development of web content, ensuring alignment with our agency's goals and objectives.
  • Participate in maintaining the agency's web information architecture for user-friendly navigation.
  • Collaborate on content strategy, integrating new content while adhering to accessibility and agency standards.
  • Conduct usability research, assessments, and testing of webpages and application interfaces, preparing reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Deliver presentations on usability findings to various levels of staff.
  • Edit web content using plain-language techniques, maintaining completeness and intended meaning.
  • Contribute to the evolution of web standards, guidelines, and training programs for staff education.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree with a major in journalism, public relations, advertising, communications, English, or a natural resources or science-related field, plus three years of full-time experience in writing, scripting, editing, related areas in communications, or in positions involving such activities as journalism, outreach, public relations, advertising, preparation of public information releases and reports, and other news materials, or performing related activities in a public or private enterprise.
