As a Mobile Forklift Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of electric, propane, and gasoline-powered industrial trucks, including brands such as Barrett, Crown, and Raymond. Your role will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring optimal performance of these vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze job orders and monitor equipment in operation to identify issues and develop repair strategies.
- Disassemble, inspect, and repair or rebuild defective components on industrial machinery, focusing on systems such as ignition, hydraulics, and fuel.
- Utilize metalworking equipment, including lathes and milling machines, to create necessary parts and ensure precise dimensions.
- Conduct tests on assembled equipment to check for electrical continuity and operational efficiency, replacing faulty components as needed.
- Manage battery installations, changes, and recharges.
- Initiate procurement processes for necessary parts and machinery.
- Evaluate used components for dimensional accuracy and safety, making adjustments as required.
- Lubricate moving parts and operate repaired machinery to confirm compliance with manufacturer standards.
- Employ welding and drilling tools to fabricate specialized attachments and systems according to technical drawings.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; certification in forklift maintenance through technical training is advantageous.
- Proficient and certified in forklift operation.
In this role, you will frequently stand, use your hands for handling tools, and reach with your arms. You may also need to walk, stoop, kneel, or crawl. Occasionally, you will sit, climb, or balance. The position requires lifting and moving weights up to 100 pounds, with specific vision abilities necessary for adjusting focus.
