Ultrasound Technologist II

The Ultrasound Technologist II performs a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including general, OB-GYN, and vascular exams, to provide high-quality images for medical professionals to diagnose and treat patients. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy and pathophysiology, as well as critical thinking skills to implement appropriate imaging techniques and ensure patient comfort and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Imaging and Diagnostic Procedures: Applies knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology to implement appropriate imaging techniques using established protocols to acquire required images.
- Patient Care and Safety: Adjusts to changing or unusual circumstances and cares for patients and families in a variety of settings to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Order Accuracy and Documentation: Ensures order accuracy when triaging and prioritizing patients and completes documentation on time and accurately in accordance with department policy or procedure.
- Safety and Quality Standards: Practices safety at all times, adhering to ALARA principles for proper radiation safety, following safe patient handling practices, and following infection prevention practices.
- Assistance with Diagnostic and Interventional Procedures: Assists providers in diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Education and Certification: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program and registered or registry eligible in ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI.
- Experience and Skills: Hospital experience and ability to move freely and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
The Ultrasound Technologist II works in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment, frequently exposed to sharp objects and instruments, and occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock.
