Job Title: Medical Surgical Nurse

Cleveland Clinic's South Pointe Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Nurse to join our team. As a Medical Surgical Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Surgical Nurse to care for adult patients undergoing elective surgeries. Our 16-bed unit provides a wide range of surgical and post-surgical services, offering a diverse patient population and opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing assessments.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care and address concerns.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs, ensuring a smooth transition to home or other care settings.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease management, medication regimens, and self-care techniques.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of current acute care RN experience, with consideration given to military RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements:

This role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. You will also need to stand and walk for extended periods, with corrected vision and hearing to normal range. You will work under stressful conditions and irregular hours, with exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
