Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the Finance and Accounting Supervisor will oversee a streamlined and scalable accounting operation while enhancing analytical capabilities and promoting financial transparency among all stakeholders. This role requires a collaborative team player who can prioritize, delegate, and execute projects effectively in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting. The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor, excelling in both execution and process design, with substantial visibility into all business facets and a crucial role in our growth journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Duties:

  • Manage daily accounting operations, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, cash management, and tax compliance.
  • Oversee month-end and quarter-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and journal entry preparation.
  • Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with sales tax and corporate tax regulations.
  • Work alongside the engineering team to identify inefficiencies and enhance accounting operations through internally developed solutions.
  • Establish and uphold robust internal controls to protect company assets and minimize financial risks.
  • Provide guidance and support to a small accounting team.

Strategic Financial Management:

  • Lead the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Create a weekly cash flow dashboard to aid decision-making based on deposits, receivables, payables, and debt servicing.
  • Develop reporting dashboards to deliver financial insights and support strategic initiatives across departments.
  • Implement a vendor management strategy to optimize purchasing power and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Build and maintain relationships with banking partners and client counterparts.
  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions as opportunities arise, including modeling and integration efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.
  • Adept at identifying opportunities for productivity improvements beyond numerical analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a talent for interpreting complex financial data.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting is advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in forecasting and financial modeling, including familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks Online and Google Workspace is a plus.
  • Experience with carve-out financial statements is beneficial.
