About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Radar, a leading provider of location infrastructure for every product and service. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our production infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.

The Stack

We utilize Terraform via TypeScript (CDKTF) to manage our infrastructure, deploy everything to AWS via Docker, and leverage MongoDB deployed to Atlas. Our data pipelines are built using Airflow and Scala Spark. We also employ CloudWatch, honeycomb, Pingdom, and PagerDuty for monitoring and incident management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, highly available, and secure cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize infrastructure requirements.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate infrastructure deployment and management.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 infrastructure support.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing production AWS environments using Terraform.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing multi-region, 5 9's production infrastructure.
  • Experience with large sharded MongoDB clusters and high-throughput data-intensive applications.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Compensation

For candidates based in the United States, the base salary range for this full-time position is between $225,000 - $275,000/year, with an opportunity for performance bonuses and incentives.
