Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide direct medical care to clients in our 28-bed Senior psychiatric Inpatient Hospital in Cincinnati, OH.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide episodic, preventive, and acute health care to patients, conducting histories and physical examinations, and prescribing medications and/or medical treatments based on best practice standards.
- Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the medical treatment team, patients, and patient's families, educating and advising on medical issues as needed.
- Provide referrals both internally and externally to appropriate medical resources or specialties, evaluating the effectiveness of medical care and monitoring progress of patients.
- Identify emergency situations and provide care within legal scope of practice and as defined by the privileging process.
- Participate in the development of health center goals and objectives, maintaining medical records in accordance with Facility's policies.
- Provide overall responsibility for the care of patients seen in the healthcare clinic in the absence of the Medical Leader.
- Graduate of an accredited medical school.
- At least three years of psychiatric experience, with some experience in primary care also helpful.
- Experience in a primary care, urgent care, or emergency room setting is a plus.
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state within which the site is located.
- Must be Board Certified as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and have current state and federal DEA certification.
- Current Certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for healthcare providers is required.
- Experience in a primary care, urgent care, or emergency room setting is a plus.
