Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Medical City Frisco. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Graduated from an accredited school for Respiratory Care, recognized by the NBRC.
  • One year of experience in Respiratory Care and with documented training completed in NICU.
