Job Summary
The Department of Religious Studies at the University of Denver invites applications for an adjunct faculty member to teach a mixed-level course, RLGS 3470: Mysticism and Psychedelics, in Spring 2022. The course meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00-3:50pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach one course in our ten-week spring quarter
- Teach in-person, on-campus course meeting twice per week, 1h 50 minutes (with a ten-minute break in the middle)
- Delineate distinct readings and assignments for undergraduate, MA, and Ph.D. students
- Hold weekly office hours and communicate responsively to students via email
Requirements
- Completed Ph.D. prior to appointment (no exceptions)
- Record of successful teaching experience during and/or after one's graduate training
Preferred Qualifications
- Theoretical training that includes familiarity with a diverse range of scholars
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Compensation and Benefits
Adjunct faculty are compensated at a rate of $4,233 per course. The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting.
