Operations Manager Perioperative Services Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager Perioperative Services to join our team at The University of Vermont Health Network. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong background in perioperative services, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent application of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) and develop, implement, and maintain a recruitment and retention plan in collaboration with staff and interdisciplinary teams.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration using team processes for change and decision-making, and create an environment that recognizes and values interdisciplinary roles and differences in staff, physicians, patients, and community.
- Utilize active listening skills and be responsive to concerns, and assert views using non-threatening, non-judgmental methods.
- Assist the Director in identifying strategies for clear and consistent communication 24/7, and create opportunities for employees to be involved in decision-making.
- Provide input to help the Director develop, implement, and monitor a sound fiscal plan for the department based on relevant data and best practice (operating/capital).
- Demonstrate active participation in application of informatics resources, and educate patient care team members on financial implications of patient care decisions.
- Manage applications for structured data entry and analysis, and apply leadership and professional practice skills to demonstrate ongoing professional development and lifelong learning in self and staff.
- Participate in the CVPH Strategic Plan, and develop and communicate a consistent strategic plan for the department.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating standards of care and standards of practice based on the patient population, relevant professional standards, and evidenced-based practice/research.
- Ensure that care providers practice in roles as allowed by NYS law, other regulatory agencies, applicable governing laws, and ethical standards of practice.
- Assist in the plan to ensure staff competence, and professional development.
- Complete staff performance evaluations in the timeframe as outlined by CVPH's policies, and provide clear and consistent performance feedback to staff.
- Help to identify a succession plan for key unit positions, and apply quality and patient-focused care to assist the director to lead successful performance improvement initiatives demonstrating expertise.
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing is required.
- Master's of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- Current New York State Registered Nurse License is required.
- Certified Operating Room Nurse (CNOR), Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN), and/or Certified PeriAnesthesia Nursing is preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
- Prior clinical experience in Perioperative Services is required.
- Prior experience with perioperative equipment and instrumentation is required.
