About the Role

Virginia Oncology Associates, a leading healthcare organization dedicated to cancer care and blood disorders, is seeking a skilled Infusion RN to support our offices in Newport News and Williamsburg.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Assess and monitor therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Assess patients for changes in condition, including abnormal labs, x-rays, scans, and drug reactions, and initiate appropriate action.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central venous access devices and alternate delivering systems.
  • Maintain efficient and appropriate patient flow.
  • Provide phone triage as assigned.
  • Document all elements of care.
  • Serve as a resource to Medical Assistants.
  • Communicate all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician or advanced practice provider.
  • Assess patient and family needs.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education required; BSN preferred.
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Current RN state license required.
  • Current BCLS certification required.
  • OCN certification preferred.
  • Ability to travel between offices as needed.
