Job Summary

The Audiovisual Technician plays a crucial role in providing technical support to clients using Educational Technology Services. This position requires excellent communication and time management skills, as well as a detailed working knowledge of various audio and video systems maintained by the Department of Educational Technology Services.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the Department's activities in areas such as Audio Engineering, Video Engineering, Distance Learning, or Audio/Video Digital Technologies.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum one year of related work experience preferred.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Broad knowledge of trends and new equipment in audio recording, sound reinforcement, etc.
  • Ability to use a computer and all software necessary to the position.
  • Ability to use spreadsheets and word processing as well as other standard office applications.
  • Expertise in two or more modern programming languages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate on the phone.
  • Ability to deal effectively with people and elicit support from other department areas and users.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret and process data and needs based on limited information.
  • Ability to organize work, define problems and solutions, and make recommendations.
  • Must have knowledge of effective planning and design techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects required.
  • Ability to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
