Backend Software Engineer

The RoleWe're seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team and help us build and scale our user-facing products. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll work closely with product, engineering, and business leaders to design and develop robust, scalable, and secure backend systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop domain models, business logic, and API integrations that make our product work seamlessly for customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize product features and technical requirements.
- Develop and maintain high-quality, well-documented code that meets our engineering standards.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of our products.
- Work closely with our data team to design and implement data pipelines, analytics, and reporting.
- Contribute to the development of our cloud-based infrastructure, including GCP, Go, and MySQL.
- Significant experience writing consumer-grade backend software, ideally in Go (golang) deployed on GCP.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including design patterns, testing, and debugging.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with data-oriented backends, including evented systems, data acquisition, and API integration.
- Autonomy and initiative, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
- Curiosity and optimism, with a passion for learning and growth.
