Job Title: Field Failure Analysis Engineer

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a skilled Field Failure Analysis Engineer to join our team at Arista Networks. As a key member of our Service organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Failure Analysis Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing hardware quality performance, analyzing RMA and failure data, and driving resolution and containment plans. You will also collaborate with internal and external functions, including contract manufacturers and customers, to ensure quality and reliability standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze field quality data, including RMA rates, MTBF, and reliability ratio.
  • Analyze RMA and failure data to identify trends and raise quality alerts.
  • Drive resolution and containment plans for quality alerts.
  • Collaborate with internal and external functions to ensure quality and reliability standards are met.
  • Present field quality performance to key stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Oversee operational performance of contract manufacturers.
  • Collaborate with product engineers, hardware engineers, and test engineers to debug specific field RMAs.
  • Review and approve failure analysis results.
  • Drive learnings from RMA and failure analysis back into manufacturing, engineering, and support teams.
  • Publish external-facing failure analysis reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in high-tech manufacturing, preferably in networking equipment.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturing partners.
  • Experience in PCBA manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly, and associated processes.
  • Broad knowledge of test, diagnostics, failure analysis, and debug techniques.
  • Foundational knowledge in quality and reliability performance metrics.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and balance technical and business aspects of hardware manufacturing.
  • Basic understanding of ERP systems and supply chain concepts.
  • Self-starter with ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to influence and motivate internal and external partners.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
What We Offer

Arista Networks offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $150,000, depending on location and experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings, and income protection.
