Police Cadet

We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Police Cadets. As a Police Cadet, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in law enforcement, while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

• Attend and complete the Basic Law Enforcement Academy
• Participate in on-the-job training and mentorship programs
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of law enforcement procedures and protocols
• Work collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies and community partners

• Must be at least 19 years of age
• Must be a United States citizen
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license
• Must be of good moral character
• Must meet one of the following requirements:
  • At least 30 college credits
  • Honorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces
  • One year of continuous full-time employment as a Correction Officer, Crime Scene Technician, Public Service Aide, Crime Analyst, or Police Communications Officer
  • Three years of consecutive work experience
• Must pass the following tests:
  • Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test (CJBAT)
  • Basic Motor Skills Test (Agility)
  • Swim Test
  Selection Process

The selection process will include a comprehensive evaluation of the candidate's qualifications, experience, and skills. This may include:

• Personnel History Questionnaire (PHQ)
• Oral Interview
• Polygraph Examination
• Psychological Evaluation
• Complete Background Investigation
• Comprehensive Medical Examination, including drug screen
• Interview with the Police Chief
