Corrections Officer

Join the City of Macedonia team as a Corrections Officer and play a vital role in maintaining public safety and order in our community.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to work in our correctional facility. As a Corrections Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of inmates, staff, and visitors. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, responding to emergencies, and performing other duties as assigned.

• Book and process prisoners, ensuring accurate and timely documentation
• Monitor inmate activity and respond to emergencies as needed
• Maintain accurate records and reports, including incident reports and daily logs
• Perform searches and seizures, and maintain order and discipline within the facility
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a safe and secure environment

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Ohio driver's license required
• Ability to pass a background check and physical exam
• Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods

Work conditions vary by shift, but may include working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. You must be able to maintain a high level of physical and mental fitness to perform the duties of this position.
