The Licensed Psychotherapist (Dependent) will engage in providing essential clinical services within the framework of IPSIDD Services. This role offers a flexible schedule and opportunities across all five boroughs of New York City.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups under the guidance of the Clinical Supervisor.
- Conduct assessments and formulate treatment plans tailored to the needs of clients.
- Facilitate therapeutic services in collaboration with parents or guardians, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.
- Monitor therapy status and make recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
- Refer clients to additional clinical services when appropriate.
- Adhere to all regulations related to service delivery and billing practices.
- Engage in Quality Assurance initiatives as required.
- Participate in Clinical Supervision, ensuring compliance with practice guidelines and state regulations.
- Keep licensure current as per IPSIDD requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following:
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with colleagues, clients, and their families.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the position.
- Capacity to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills.
Education and Experience
A Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Child and Family Therapy, or a related clinical field is required.
Licensure/Certification
Must possess a current New York State license as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor, or hold a Limited Permit in Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy.
