Position Overview:

The Junior Litigation Counsel at The Gori Law Firm plays a crucial role in advocating for clients affected by asbestos exposure. This position involves managing assigned cases related to asbestos-related illnesses, conducting depositions, and engaging with potential clients and witnesses.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of legal experience, preferably in personal injury or asbestos-related cases
• Proficient knowledge and demonstrated skills in:
  • Legal protocols and processes for case management, depositions, and testimonies
  • Legal research and documentation
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Self-driven and organized
• Effective problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
• Capacity to assimilate and retain complex industrial and medical information
• Empathy for clients facing terminal illnesses
• Flexibility and responsiveness to client needs based on their health conditions

Key Responsibilities:

• Advocate for clients suffering from asbestos exposure
• Collaborate with the team to prepare assigned cases
• Travel extensively to meet clients, prospective clients, and witnesses across the country
• Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses, both in-person and via phone, to gather and assess relevant information
• Collect and evaluate data by reviewing documents such as Social Security, Medical, Military, and Union records
• Prepare and execute depositions of fact witnesses
• Summarize testimonies from depositions of fact witnesses

Education and Licenses:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background screening is required
