Position Overview

Role Summary

*This position is remote, but candidates must be within a reasonable distance to the Mundelein office.

POSITION SUMMARY

Lead and coordinate teams dedicated to enhancing the Domestic Supply Chain. Ensure that departmental personnel are engaged in ongoing process improvements. Foster alignment by effectively communicating customer requirements and expectations across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct teams within the Domestic Supply Chain based on essential KPIs. Investigate, address, or escalate inventory challenges. Ensure that the daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly objectives of Supply Chain teams are met. Verify that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are current.
  • Analyze exceptions to identify root causes of challenges—recognize process deficiencies and propose solutions to team members and senior leadership.
  • Communicate Supply Chain and service challenges to senior management, providing both short-term and long-term recommendations for resolution.
  • Establish critical inventory metrics—such as Safety Stock levels—considering constraints and inputs like lead times and order cycles to optimize inventory levels in line with KPIs.
  • Offer support to internal manufacturing, customer service, and sales teams as necessary.
  • Prepare and present forward-looking projections regarding inventory, volume, service, planning, capacity, and spatial considerations.
  • Ensure system parameters are accurate. Facilitate communication among teams.
  • Develop data-driven materials for presentations to various audiences to report on metrics and assess efficiencies.
  • Implement changes and drive continuous process enhancements.
  • Manage vendor relationships and collaborate with other divisions to ensure business success.

Management Responsibilities Include:

  • Typically oversees professional teams or manages non-professional employees through Supervisors in various environments.
  • Responsible for the daily operations of a group of employees.
  • May have limited budgetary responsibilities and typically contributes to budgetary impacts.
  • Interpret and implement policies for departments/projects and develop new ones as needed.
  • Recommend and execute new policies or modifications to existing policies.
  • Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff operations.
  • Responsible for hiring staff, recommending pay increases, conducting performance reviews, training and developing personnel, estimating staffing needs, assigning tasks, and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years in manufacturing, distribution, or procurement roles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MRP, purchasing, demand management, and forecasting.
  • Proficient in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, business statistics, and volumes.
  • Work primarily in an office environment with occasional travel (up to 10%) required for company locations or training sessions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, creating pivot tables).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • APICS certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience directly managing personnel, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing staff.
  • Experience in procurement, inventory planning, and/or demand planning.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Tableau.
