Job Summary

Summit Medical Staffing Allied is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join their team for a travel assignment in a hospital setting.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients with a variety of conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, and asthma.
  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and other respiratory treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests, such as spirometry and peak flow measurements, to assess lung function.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize respiratory care services.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of employment.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and move patients, as well as push and pull heavy equipment, as needed.
