Job Title: Environmental Geologist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Geologist to join our team in Columbus, OH.

This role will involve collaborating with environmental engineers and project managers on multi-disciplinary projects, including environmental investigations, remediations, and compliance work. You will have the opportunity to work on a growing backlog of industrial manufacturing sites, CERCLA/RCRA facilities, and client sites across Federal, State, and local levels.

About the Role:
  • Lead environmental field sampling investigations, including soil, groundwater, and fugitive air emissions.
  • Develop work plans, technical approaches, and budgets for projects.
  • Interpret geological and hydrogeological data and create groundwater maps.
  • Determine source locations and assess remediation alternatives.
  • Manage and evaluate data.
  • Oversight of drilling operations and well installation/development.
  • Create procedures for drilling and soil sampling programs, including direct-push, auger, rotosonic, and rotary methods.
  • Design and implement hydrogeologic investigations, including well placement and design, installation methods, and sampling plans.
  • Lead Vapor Intrusion Investigations, including indoor air sampling and sub-slab vapor sampling.
  • Plan and execute field tasks and manage junior staff.
  • Prepare technical documents, including specifications and reports.
  • Develop site-specific health and safety plans.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology/Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science from an accredited institution.
  • 7+ years of hydrogeology experience; 5 years of consulting experience preferred.
  • Certified Professional Geologist (CPG) or State-licensed PG preferred.
  • Experience with GIS platforms preferred.
  • Current 40 HOUR OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred.
  • Field investigation experience with air, soil, and groundwater sampling.
  • Able to work collaboratively with strong communication skills, self-motivation, and organizational skills.
  • Candidates must be able to build strong working relationships with clients and team members.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills required.
  • Limited travel may be required based on projects and opportunities.
Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
