Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician II to join our team at TRAX International. As a Heavy Equipment Technician II, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain heavy equipment and vehicles, including engines, brake systems, drive trains, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
  • Provide support in testing and maintenance of developmental and fielded items, including tracked vehicles, heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, forklifts, and fixed and mobile equipment.
  • Apply extensive practical knowledge of various equipment areas, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Operate and maintain all forms of automotive and support type equipment using a wide range of mechanical concepts and principles.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults using proper diagnostic equipment, interpret wiring schematics and hydraulic flow charts, and document repairs needed.
Requirements
  • 3 years of applicable experience or completion of formal training and 2 years of applicable experience.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification.
Physical Qualifications
  • Must be capable of squatting, crouching, standing, climbing, stooping, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend equipment.
  • Must be able to visually distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Terms of Employment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
