About the Role:

We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Peabody Energy. As part of our Open Cut Maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out preventive and breakdown maintenance to fixed and mobile plant in an open cut environment. Your duties will include inspecting work areas and plant for hazards, examining drawings or specifications to determine work methods, and diagnosing faults or breakdowns. You will also be responsible for estimating time and materials required to complete jobs, raising orders for materials, and undertaking repairs or component changeouts as required. Additionally, you will be expected to clean and maintain tools and work areas, train other personnel or apprentices, and ensure activities comply with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.

About You:

We are looking for an individual with three years' experience performing electrical maintenance work in a heavy industrial environment or mine site. You should be able to solve problems and troubleshoot situations arising in the pit area as needed. You should also be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues. You will be required to have a high school degree or GED equivalent and to be able to lift/raise lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the course of work shift. You will also be required to work in extreme conditions, including changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light, and in a confined work area.

Physical Requirements:

You will be required to stand for up to 4 hours per shift, be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles, and work from elevated positions, walk/climb up and down stairs/steps, and climb on and off equipment and ladders. You will also be required to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA. You will be required to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions, and have rapid reflex movements of the arms and legs and good hand to eye coordination. You will also be required to work various shifts, including days, evenings, and nights with rotating schedules, weekends, and holidays.
