Down East Community Hospital is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer/Echocardiogram Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Cardiopulmonary Services department, you will provide high-quality echocardiogram services to adult patients, both inpatient and outpatient.
Key Responsibilities- Perform echocardiograms independently on adult patients, utilizing Doppler and color flow technology.
- Review patient history and results of prior diagnostic studies to ensure accurate and comprehensive care.
- Record images using proper identification information and send studies to interpreting cardiologists.
- Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere for patients, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
- Certified Sonographer - RDCS credential.
- Associates Degree in a related field.
- At least 2 years of clinical experience, with a preference for experience in echocardiogram services.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
This position requires frequent lifting of up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling 100 pounds using mechanical devices, and standing/walking for extended periods. Normal hearing acuity and visual acuity correctable to 20/20 are necessary for this role.
