Fleet Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team at Galveston County, TX. As a key member of our Fleet Management division, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our department vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and overhaul truck brakes and clutches.
  • Repair hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy road equipment and diesel vehicles.
  • Perform transmission and engine repairs.
  • Operate testing equipment, troubleshoot, and make repairs.
  • Replace water and fuel pumps.
  • Perform on-the-road repairs of disabled road equipment and vehicles.
  • Operate road equipment and vehicles for testing purposes.
  • Maintain records of repair work done.
  • Repair gas-operated weed eaters and chainsaws.
  • Repair all vehicles and equipment.
  • Test drive vehicles to ensure safe repairs have been made.
  • Report regularly for work and be on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 3+ years of experience using hand and power tools.
  • 3+ years of experience in the maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • 3+ years of experience in general fleet maintenance jobs.
  • Customer Service Oriented.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Pass a Criminal Background check.
  • Pass a driver's license background check.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License issued by the State of Texas.
  • Tanker Endorsement is a Requirement for this position.
  • Pass alcohol and drug testing.
