Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patients and answer questions as needed.
  • Maintain equipment, examine machines for proper functioning, and sterilize the room where procedures take place.
  • Prepare radioactive drugs and administer them to patients.
  • Monitor patients for unusual drug reactions.
  • Operate equipment to create images of organs or areas of the body according to physician orders.
  • Maintain patient records and add medical notes related to procedures.
  • Follow hospital safety rules and procedures.

Requirements

  • One to three years' experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred.
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and use a computer.
  • Physical abilities: remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment, push, pull, bend.
