Job Summary
The job of Behavior Intervention Specialist Assistant is done for the purpose of providing support to the educational process with specific responsibilities for assisting teachers, therapists, and counselors with the administration of one-on-one intensive behavioral intervention assistance; tutoring of students in a school, home, classroom, or other setting; assisting teachers and staff in the development and implementation of programs, materials, and exercises to enhance the student learning experience and develop life skills; and performing a variety of activities in support of special instructional programs including special education, interagency, and district-wide subject matter.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers, therapists, and counselors with the administration of one-on-one intensive behavioral intervention assistance
- Tutor students in a school, home, classroom, or other setting
- Assist teachers and staff in the development and implementation of programs, materials, and exercises to enhance the student learning experience and develop life skills
- Perform a variety of activities in support of special instructional programs including special education, interagency, and district-wide subject matter
Requirements
Applicant is required to have any combination equivalent to 1 year of education in child development, education, and/or psychology or 1 year of experience working with handicapped students and/or one year of demonstrated experience implementing applied behavior analysis based behavior intervention techniques.
