Job Description

Job Summary:

The Program Leader - Youth Development position at arc After School and Experiential Education is a part-time, non-exempt role that reports to the Site Coordinator of the school site. As a Program Leader, you will be responsible for leading before- and after-school programs for K-12 youth, providing a safe and engaging environment for students to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging program activities that promote social-emotional learning, academic support, and recreational activities.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and school staff to ensure a positive and supportive program environment.
  • Collaborate with the Site Coordinator to plan and implement program events and activities.
  • Provide academic support and homework assistance to students as needed.
  • Supervise and engage students in recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, sports, and games.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by the program and school.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • First aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to pass a background check and TB test.
