Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive plans for land use, zoning, and transportation, ensuring alignment with county goals and objectives.
- Review and approve land divisions, subdivisions, and other development proposals, ensuring compliance with local regulations and ordinances.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform planning decisions, including demographic studies, market analyses, and environmental impact assessments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including developers, community groups, and other government agencies, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and other written materials to the Director of Land Information and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to other county departments and agencies on planning-related matters.
- Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies affecting land use planning and development.
- Bachelor's degree in Planning or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in local government administration and/or the planning profession.
- AICP Certification preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and community engagement.
